Italy
Through the Table
Regional food cultures, private kitchens, and the producers whose names never leave the valley.
Italy is best understood one table at a time. Not the restaurant with the view, but the family whose cheese has been made the same way for four generations, and the kitchen you are invited into rather than seated in.
This is the lens for travellers who have done Rome, Florence and Venice, and now want Piedmont in truffle season or a week in Puglia with a cook.
What a journey here might include
- Private lunches in family kitchens and working farms
- Producers at harvest: olive pressing, vendemmia, the cheese room at dawn
- A regional focus rather than a national tour: one or two areas, properly
- Hotels chosen for the breakfast and the staff as much as the room
Pace and access
Hill towns are the honest constraint here; we plan around cobbles and gradients rather than pretending they are not there, and we will say clearly which places are worth the effort.
